Mr. O’Grady limits his practice to estate planning and related services. He uses
sophisticated estate and gift tax planning techniques including family gifting strategies, marital deduction trusts, family limited partnerships, limited liability companies, corporate buy-sell agreements, creative no-contest clauses, life insurance trusts and irrevocable grantor incentive trusts to protect the assets of his clients. Mr. O’Grady also prepares basic estate planning documents such as living trusts, wills, powers of attorney for property management and property agreements for his clients.

In collaboration with executors and trustees in the administration of the estate after death, he handles probates and mediates disputes among beneficiaries. Mr. O’Grady works closely with other lawyers, management teams, investment managers, financial planners, bankers, insurance brokers, accountants and other professionals to serve his clients most effectively.

Mr. O'Grady served as Vice-Chair and International Tax Editor of the International Tax Committee of the State Bar of California, Taxation Section from 1992 to 1994. He is widely published and a sought after speaker at professional seminars for organizations such as The Bar Association of San Francisco, The California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Golden Gate University Tax Program. He has also taught federal income taxation at San Francisco Law School.

He is a member of the Trusts and Estates Section and the Taxation Section of The State Bar of California. He earned his J.D. and LL.M. (Taxation) from Golden Gate University and B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
